Banaue and Sagada Tour
Sagada is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 10,930 people in 2,158 households. It is located 275 km. north of Manila, 140 km. from Baguio, and it is adjacent to Bontoc, the provincial capital. Sagada is famous for its "hanging coffins". This was a traditional way of burying people that is not utilized anymore. Not anyone was qualified to be buried this way; one had to, among other things, be married and have grandchildren.

12:00NN Arrival and Lunch

1:00pm-2:00pm Burnham Park
Is located along a stretch of roads leading to Camp John Hay Base, now known as a popular resort hotel in Baguio, in the Philippines. This park contains many different species of plants and wildlife; More than 10 species of pine were recorded there, including the rare Philippine Pine.

2:00pm-3:00pm The Wright Park
Is located at the eastern part of the city and fronting the main gate of the Mansion, is one of the many scenic parks in Baguio City. Its main features are a shallow elongated rectangular body of water known as the "Pool of Pines" and the park circle which is on one end of the park. Postcard-type photographs are usually taken at both ends of Wright Park and when going there it is best to bring along a camera.

3:00pm-4:00pm Mines View Park
One of the most popular and most visited park in the city. From the observation deck of the park a breathtaking panoramic view of Benguet's gold and copper mines and the surrounding mountains unfolds before you. It is a spectacular sight to behold and should not be missed when visiting Baguio.

4:00pm-5:00pm Baguio Cathedral
(also known as Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary)
Is one of religious landmarks in the city. It has a pink facade with rose window and two square bell towers with pyramid roof. It was built by the CICM missionaries and was initially opened to the public on November 25, 1900.

Rice Terraces
The Banaue Rice Terraces are 2000-year old terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao in the Philippines by ancestors of the Batad indigenous people. The Rice Terraces are commonly referred to by Filipinos as the "Eighth Wonder of the World".

 

Fourth Day (Return to Manila)

8:00am-10:00am Interaction with the Villagers
In Hiwang Native Village Inn, there are different types of native huts, and many rice god statues. If you look closely at the huts, you'll notice that they didn't use any nails! And by the way, these huts are for rent, too. This way you can really feel how the native Igorots lived in the past. There are also many antiques, like statues, bowls, pots, shields and spears, and even some paintings.
